MULTICULTURALISM
Okay, back in 2017, my campus, Universitas Gadjah Mada, held a creative competition. As I can remember, there were 2 sections of the competition. First was poster competition, and second was blog post. Each section has 3 topics, and one of them that catch my eyes is Multiculturalism.
Lemme ask you a question. What do you think when you heard a word of MULTICULTURALISM?
Since I am Indonesian from blood to the bone and beyond the skin, and Indonesia is a country with countless culture and ethics and language and s-o-m-a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g-s-m-o-r-e, Since Indonesian have a national motto,
-Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. Unity in diversity- I think it’s important to understand our national motto a litter deeper rather than just a rare translation of Sanskrit idioms.
From time to time our comprehension about multiculturalism is growing but also had been tested with so many issues.
As time goes on, espouse on Multiculturalism being something that difficult to understand, the complex concept, too grandiose to achieve, difficult in practice and many other apathetic *not to mention* kind of thinking.
Through this poster, I wanna say that being multiculturalism is not difficult. It doesn’t mean you have to wear all the cultures attribute to prove that you are espousing multiculturalism. Doesn’t mean you have to attend every religious celebration, Doesn’t mean you have to add all the spices found in Nusantara to your every feast.
APPRECIATE
RESPECT
:))
Here I present you my poster
Cause overall, we stand on the same land, carry the same root, shared the same dream for this country.
So let's live in love and harmony as a human being of Indonesia :)
